World Towns Leadership Summit 2017

31st May – 2nd June 2017, MALMÖ, SWEDEN

We look forward to continuing the international dialogue initiated in Edinburgh, June 2016, which resulted in a frame-work of beliefs and principles for inclusive city building. Please join us to advance these ideas in Malmö, Sweden, to refine the values and priorities for the urban place management industry.

Our goal for the 2017 Summit is quite specific: to establish a global action plan to enable the work of all participating organizations. We seek to affirm, or amend as needed, the guiding principles established in Edinburgh and build consensus on policy directions necessary to sustain healthy commercial districts. The summit will examine the UN Habitat III New Urban Agenda and recent issues research to inform the place management action plan. While the business community and property owners remain the primary stakeholder audiences for our member organizations, we must to consider the long term needs of residents, visitors, and workers, all of whom fuel the growth and success of every city center, commercial district, corridor, and neighborhood.
